Purple Desert
„We have met, man and woman, woman and man, thought, idea, curiosity,
space and time. We fly together, our bodies recognize each other
while diving, and we endlessly hold on to the thread believed to be the
only one. This is not a story, which can be told in words but rather a
chase, an observation sensing the signs given by the other, to be able to
understand each other better and to find oneself.”
-
/Marta Ladjanszki
The inspiration for making ‘Purple Desert’ came partly from Abe Kobo’s famous novel, “The Woman of the Sand”. The performance does not follow the story of the novel, but attempts to evoke its atmosphere.
